You can spend a lot of money advertising your vehicles on various trading websites like Trade Me and Autotrader, and it is important to maximise that spend by using all the "advertising space" available to you. This includes not only the descriptive text and feature lists, but more importantly the images allocated to each vehicle. In most cases you are entitled to use up to 20 photos per vehicle. If you are not using all the allocated spaces you are not maximising your dollar spend.
Experienced dealers know how to use all 20 images to not only showcase a vehicles best attributes, but just as importantly to drive other messages home to potential buyers. They do this through the use of Image Overlays & JPEGs.
Image Overlays
Image Overlays are just that, an image that is automatically inserted over the top of one of your existing vehicle photos. Motorcentral DMS can automate this process by allowing you to setup multiple Image Overlays and then choose one to apply on a per vehicle basis. You can choose to have one or none overlays separately on both the first image and all the subsequent images collectively. The first image is of particular importance as this is usually the one that is displayed when a customer completes a search.
Image Overlays are great for example when you're having a sale, running a promotion or simply for brand recognition.

JPEGs
A JPEG is simply a single image that can be used in place of one of your vehicle images. It is a full size graphic that can be used to, for example:
- display the top 6 reasons to purchase a vehicle from you
- indicate on a map your location
- alert buyers to finance & insurance products and other services you may offer
- promote a sale or offer you are currently running
- explain the process of getting a vehicle 'customer-ready' for your dealership
- advertise a competition you may be running
