Approach the new year strong!

It’s hard to believe 2022 is done and dusted and 2023 is already upon us! 

When going into the new year it’s important you start it off strong to set your dealership up for success. To help you achieve this we have collated our top 5 tips for entering the new year:

  1. Reflect on the year that’s been: Get together with your team and brainstorm what went well and what didn’t go well in 2022, what processes and systems need to be changed and make an action list.
  2. Review your stock: Take a look at what's been selling well and what hasn't. Make sure to stock up on popular models, while also getting rid of slow-moving inventory.
  3. Set goals: Set realistic sales targets for the year, both for your dealership as a whole and for individual salespeople. Make sure everyone is aware of these targets and check in regularly to ensure your team are tracking well towards them.
  4. Invest in marketing: Make sure your dealership has a strong online presence and is active on social media. Does your website offer an appealing, trust-worthy and user-friendly experience? Does it showcase your vehicles and additional product offerings such as finance and insurance? Do you utilise email marketing?   5. Train your staff: Make sure your salespeople are up-to-date on the latest models and features of the cars you have in stock. Offer training sessions on sales techniques and customer service in order to enhance the customer experience and conversion rates.
  6. Focus on customer service: Make sure your customers have a positive experience at your dealership as this is what massively impacts them purchasing, referring friends & family and returning down the track to purchase future vehicles. Train your staff on how to provide excellent customer service, continually look for ways to improve the customer experience (surveys such as BuyerScore are great for this) and make sure all customer complaints are handled quickly and efficiently.
